For L
Pirate on the edge of my story,
when will you stop being so bashful?
So much of our climax
relies on you
The hero wants more of you,
the principles are a disappointment
and the plot is going no where.
The setting is stale;
too many heroes have been there before.
The themes are contradicting each other
and everyone wonders why it won't end.
The Critics just wonder why I bother.
This story of mine needs a change.
It needs your raven hair and pale skin
the perfect canvas for the tattoos you adorn.
They love being so creatively placed
upon the curves of your slender supple form.
The few scenes you appeared;
your dialog could not be heard
because the audience would not stop cheering.
you added that touch of humanity
my story was thirsty for.
They wanted your adventures
of pirates and serpents and Gods of the sea.
I long to write more scenes with you.
They'll make for exciting tales.
Of war and peace, love and apathy.
You of your pirates, me of my vampires
together and in love at last.
Enough of this pithy suburban wasteland
And its meaningless politics (so boring...)
Why cant i find a place for you
in this story in need of you?
the hero wants to find you
but he's too busy trying to reach the end.
Do you fear the principles?
I know, they frighten me too sometimes.
They love their simple plots
and nonsensical endings
Of the vampires and pirates defeated,
left loveless and vilified
Praising their knights and kings
as they sing "happily ever after".
Life isn't like that, they should know...
Pirate on the edge of my story
when will you stop being so bashful?
So much of our climax
relies on you.

My name is Candy Pearson and we are friends on facebook. We have never spoken. I just wanted to say that you write very well. When I read what you had written, I felt that secret pang a writer feels inside when magically they can relate to something else, by someone else.
Thanks for that.
